 Smile

Wake up, unkempt, poorly slept

interrupted head, pounding heart

unsure, unclear why, confusion

meets the scattered sunlight, blurred eyesight, scintillating 

false colours, waiting the walls with rainbows

standing, staring at the curved mirror

unrecognisable features, old

haggard

puffy

bloodshot

showered and brushed

mirror again, face cracking into a poor smile

todays mask, 

tomorrows puffy, haggard visage

returns

Loves Inadequacy

Inadequacy of Love Rainbows of flowing heat, dark and vibrantly aglow at the same time, Holding promise, whilst near the surface, pools of darker promise threat ? the first shoots, bright and virgin soaking up everything, endless promise and opportunity the first leaf, growing structure promise of more to coms stem thickening more leaves, and texture something new appears a different bud evolving until it opens bright and effervescent, the first flowering and suddenly, surrounded but pollinators, bees, flies the natural cycle suddenly ended by the florist moved into a vase Turned into a wife or husband fixed in time or reinforced as such ending any other promise leaving the plant somewhat diminished, less colourful, less promise growing, without the wild and beauty of the floral decorations love cut off, sat in a museum display a memory, but now stopped and dead
