Silence in words

Silence Sometimes you want to hear nature, the sound of birds In the trees, rain pattering on the  Long grass, lifting the dust from the surface, the smell is  Everywhere, fresh and  Natural, birds seeking out the bugs that have  Come to the surface, our out from under leaves, Entering the clean world that’s just been renewed

Autumn Rain

Pattering Rain Drip….drip, misty and light, rivulets on the window, coalescing into drops Slowly, then more quickly making their zig zag route to the sill Tiny rainbows against the sky,  Birds gather their feathers around them, and shuffle into the leaves, onto branches, to wait it out Splashes kick up from the ground, spreading the water widely Cleaning off the floor but staining the walls with dirt Sunshine pushes through,  Chasing the rain across the garden, monkeys getting married as it moves along Refreshing the space around me Birds call again, telling each other the local gossip Food emerges from the ground, caught by the eagle eyes robins and starlings

Dancing in the Rain

Rain dance Splattering down on the path, on the grass,  On the leaves in the trees Spattering up, covering everything There are some places underneath that remain dry Boots on, raincoat zipped up, waterproof trousers tied Step out into the stage, lights shine around, reflections of bolts that light the air Feeling the music inside, strains ebbing and flowing, lifting Feet moving in a dance, splashing into random patches of water,  Cold pyrotechnical flares, that reflect and refract the flashing lights Whirling quicker, drops never sitting on the surface of the material, spinning outwards As I spin inwards Drums copying my feet Heart beating, face bright with laughter ‘Crash’ The light shatters the internal song, shattering the air with a thunderous applause Finish…..bow….head inside Such a performance  Such a joyful experience

growing

growth scattered light, pin pricks in the sky, reflections off raindrops, mirror balls of the trees refreshing and  then life returns what was dead, dry,  is now green growing out of its slumber towards the light  scattering

Misty rain

Rain rain rain whispering, it softly drifts through the air, softly coating leaves on trees, blades of grass slowly bending as the drops coalesce  falls with a soft splash, barely heard Wind drifting the mist across the fields in the distance air slowly cleaning itself refreshed for the new day
