Dancing in the Rain
Rain dance
Splattering down on the path, on the grass,
On the leaves in the trees
Spattering up, covering everything
There are some places underneath that remain dry
Boots on, raincoat zipped up, waterproof trousers tied
Step out into the stage, lights shine around, reflections of bolts that light the air
Feeling the music inside, strains ebbing and flowing, lifting
Feet moving in a dance, splashing into random patches of water,
Cold pyrotechnical flares, that reflect and refract the flashing lights
Whirling quicker, drops never sitting on the surface of the material, spinning outwards
As I spin inwards
Drums copying my feet
Heart beating, face bright with laughter
‘Crash’
The light shatters the internal song, shattering the air with a thunderous applause
Finish…..bow….head inside
Such a performance
Such a joyful experience
